The European Le Mans Series (often referred to as ELMS) is a lighter version of 24 hours of Le Mans. It now consists of 4-hour races for each round. That means racers stop driving after 4 hours. This year, the series starts on April 14th, 2019 and ends on October 27, 2019. Several world broadcasters will show the series on their networks. However, if you are traveling overseas or want to watch specific coverage from a location, you will need to use a VPN.

In 2004, Don Panoz officially launched the ELMS as we know it now. However, he faced some initial problems at first. That was due to the similarity in cars in the FIA GT Championship. After some trial and error, classic races got resurrected and turned out a large number of competitors.
Currently, there are 6 races in the season. As we mentioned, each race is 4 hours long. Let’s take a look at the races, locations, and dates for this season.
- 4 hours of Le Castellet – Le Castellet, France – April 14th
- 4 Hours of Monza – Monza, Italy – May 12th
- 4 Hours of Barcelona – Barcelona, Spain – July 21
- 4 Hours of Silverstone – Silverstone, United Kingdom – August 31st
- 4 Hours of Spa – Spa, Belgium – September 22nd
- 4 Hours of Portimão – Portimão, Portugal – October 27th
As you can see above, there are some great locations that hold races. The series is open to Le Mans Prototypes. The categories are divided into LMP2 and LMP3 classes, along with grand tourer-style cars in the LMGTE class. Because of that, you are likely to see competitors from everywhere.
Coverage wise, there are a few different options you have. We’ll now list some of the most popular live coverage for the races.

There are some other channels around the world that are showing highlights of the races, but it is not live coverage. You also have the option of viewing it uninterrupted on the European Le Mans Series website. However, that link may not always work. You may also be blocked in certain areas from seeing it live.
That is why you will want to use a VPN. Often times, companies will block content from those outside of the targeted area. Those are called geo-restrictions. If you want to watch the race live, you may not have access to one of the options we just mentioned. By connecting to a VPN server in the country of your choice, you will trick the blocking software.
